Petagna wants the record

Monza’s new striker Andrea Petagna spoke, interviewed by ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ about his first impressions after his uphill league start with the Brianza-based team.

“From the beginning of this adventure we knew that it would not be all easy because the team and several players are at their first experience in Serie A. In my opinion we had the right approach to the category, but we lacked a little something. We should not panic because the league is long and we started it with two difficult opponents such as Napoli and Torino,” explained the 1995 class.

Then the former Napoli striker set a personal goal for this championship: “I’m not saying a number of goals because the result of the team counts more. In 2017-18 with Atalanta I scored four goals and we finished fourth. Do you think I was not happy? As long as I was saving myself with Monza, I would be happy even if I only scored once. 16 goals at Spal? I think the best Petagna has never been seen. I hope to show him at Monza.”
