Mikaela Shiffrin repeats in Gurgl, historic podium for Lara Colturi and Camille Rast
Mikaela Shiffrin makes 99 in career, historic podium for Lara Colturi and Camille Rast
After her uncontested domination in Levi, Mikaela Shiffrin è repeated herself in the Gurgl slalom as well, taking the 99th victory of her career. After finishing in the lead in the first run, the U.S. superstar è limited herself to managing the lead in the second run, achieving the fifth fastest time of the split.
Behind the American superstar are Albania's Lara Colturi and Switzerland's Camille Rast, who are 55 and 57 hundredths, respectively, behind the U.S. skier. For both it is the first historic podium in their careers.
She does not go beyond fourth place, the other Swiss Wendy Holdener, who accumulates a gap of as many as 75 hundredths. Completing the top 10 are Germany's Lera Duerr, America's Paula Moltzan, Austria's Katharina Liensberger, Sweden's Sara Hector, Croatia's Zrinka Ljutic and Switzerland's Melanie Meillard.
Second run to forget, however, for Lara Della Mea, who after a few gates è made herself the protagonist of a’straddle. First career points for Martina Peterlini and Beatrice Sola, who finish 20th and 21st. Giorgia Collomb’s race also ends with a mockery, as she falls in the final bars of the trial. Eliminated directly in the first run, finally, Marta Rosetti, Vera Tschurtschennthaler and Lucrezia Lorenzi.
Shiffrin climbs to 245 points in the overall standings and puts almost a hundred points margin over Liensberger at 148, and Lena Duerr’s 131. Brignone è fifth with 100 points.
