Italy, devastating defeat: spoon close

Third defeat in three days in the Six Nations for the Italian national rugby team. It is the most painful knockout for Brunel’s Azzurri, defeated without appeal at home by Scotland 36-20.
After a shock first quarter of an hour, with two blitz goals from the hosts, Italy bounced back thanks to Ghiraldini’s goal and Haimona’s set pieces.
In the second half, the Scots kept the distance with kicks by Laidlaw and Seymour’s final goal thwarting Fuser’s.
Now the wooden spoon is very likely. On Saturday, March 12, for the penultimate round of the Tournament, Parisse and his teammates will be engaged in Ireland. It closes in Wales.
