Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia in an interview with Rai spoke about the upcoming Champions League match against Juventus.
“Juve has remained the same team, a team against which it is difficult to win. In recent years it has always shown that it is the strongest team in Italy, a huge club, a huge society, they have been at this level for so many years, so it works well.
“I didn’t find it changed from past years. I, for example, remember a game against Juve, with Roma, my last in Roma: it looked like we were better than them, we could have won and in the end we lost 3-0, we finished the game in nine. All this is to say that Juve can play well, but they don’t need to play well to win. This is a peculiarity of this team. Juve can win even by playing badly.”
However, the former Giallorossi man is sure about who will pass the round: “Bayern of course. I hope we can do our best to pass this round. Because Bayern Munich has to go as far as possible, we have the goal of winning the Champions League.”
It will be vital to avoid the mistakes of the last half hour at the Stadium: “I think we made a mistake on the pressing above all, because we stayed a bit lower, we let them play a bit more. Then they with this stadium, with this crowd, maybe had a little more strength and put everything in to go and tie the game.”
