Giorgio Squinzi is not going to give up his jewels without a fight.
The Sassuolo patron spoke to the microphones of Radio 1: “What would I do if Berlusconi asked me for Di Francesco? I am a Milanista, but I don’t hide the fact that Di Francesco is very important for our project, so I would fight as if any other Serie A president asked me in order to have him stay with us.”
“I hope Berardi can stay another year with us even though we don’t want to put brakes on his growth. I think he has found the right environment in Sassuolo, he realizes that. The player is all ours, there is an option for Juventus but I hope we can still keep him.”
On Sassuolo’s ambitions: “The current seventh place I consider a passing position. I would aim to be permanently in the top five. Getting to the Europa League is difficult, but being four points behind Milan confirms to me as a Rossoneri fan that right now they are not at their best.”
