The signing is there. But Ever Banega’s future at Sevilla is far from settled. Disputing last Sunday’s game against Villarreal, the Argentine midfielder triggered an automatic renewal with the Andalusian club, breaking the dream of the many clubs, Inter in the lead, that dreamed of getting their hands on the director at zero parameter since July 1.
But the feeling is that the former Boca Juniors player will continue to be heard of, because in Sevilla they know that offers will be forthcoming. And that the player’s motivations could make all the difference:
“The player is under contract with us,” said Sevilla’s ds, Monchi, “However, there are teams with greater economic and social potential than ours that can aim for certain goals, and I understand that a player, at a certain point in his career, wants to improve his situation.”
The Nerazzurri, who seemed to have finalized the deal in all details in January, are therefore still hoping. But the deal would certainly not be cheap…
