Peruzzi: "Inter is soulless"

Angelo Peruzzi believes Roma is the favorite in the race for third place: “Yes. Although then in a dry match like Saturday’s with Inter, anything can happen. Roma plays well, is very fast, but Mancini has the human material to respond and on the throw-in they can hurt with Ljajic, Eder and the same Jovetic, decisive in the first part of the tournament. After all, for Inter the Olimpico is the watershed: should they lose, goodbye Champions. Roberto has a potentially strong but also somewhat inexperienced team. What they lack is soul. They should have cloned Zanetti.”
“I don’t have to discover Spalletti’s qualities,” he continued to Gazzetta dello Sport. “But I think his merits more than technical-tactical were psychological. He put everything back in its place, restoring confidence to the whole environment. If Roma had finished two years second, the values were there. It was necessary to make them re-emerge. Because in the end it’s the players who make the team.”
Personal note: “On weekends I go to see my son’s games, who at 13 years old plays goalkeeper. Roberto Negrisolo, an expert number 1 trainer, says he is even stronger than me. I am the least qualified to make a judgment. All I’m saying is that at that age you just have to have fun with the ball.”
