Inzaghi: "We lacked lucidity"

Lazio falls at home for the third time this season, a round after the knockout against Napoli and two months after the controversial defeat against Torino.

Against Genoa, however, there are no refereeing recriminations and Simone Inzaghi’s analysis to the microphones of Premium Sport is inevitably bitter: “We had some difficulties, we found a good Genoa, who defended with order. But we had to be better, we had to be more patient. After the goal we were good at reacting, then maybe the too much eagerness to look for the lead made us find out and take the goal again. That’s how it went, maybe there was also some tiredness, but now we have to keep our heads up and pedal. Matches like that come, over the course of a season, but we have to be good at understanding that when you can’t win then you have to at least draw, a team like ours, which aspires to certain positions, should not take the 2-1 goal after finding the draw, that’s what made me angry: we have to be more lucid. Did we lack physicality with the absences of Milinkovic and Lulic? When you lose, whoever is absent is right: those two are important players, but we could have done better all the same, now we have to bounce back immediately, because we have a big game against Napoli next.”

Disappointing the contribution provided by Felipe Anderson, who was deployed as a midfield outside player: “I tried to unbalance the team by making him play fifth, but there is no Anderson case: he is a guy who has been out for a long time and now he is trying to show off to help the team. We will try to analyze what didn’t go and start again from the San Paolo challenge, where we will have to try to impose our game.”
