Triestina mocks Berlusconi and Monza

Monza did not go beyond 1-1 at home against Triestina on the debut of new president Silvio Berlusconi in the stands at Brianteo Stadium. The hosts created numerous chances, hit a crossbar and took the lead through Negro at 67′. Three minutes from the end, however, came the equalizer on a penalty kick by Granoche: the Brianzoli remain second in the Serie C group B behind Pordenone.
At the stadium many choruses for the new owner, who in the VIP stand also took pictures with some fans. Also with him were his brother Paolo, the CEO of the Brianza club Adriano Galliani, the historic Rossoneri legal counsel Leandro Cantamessa, and the mayor of Monza Dario Allevi.
Before the match Berlusconi had given a motivational speech to the players, then posted on Instagram: “I’m here to watch the first match. I won’t hide from you that I’m a little excited. To you I say I commend you. I had some phrases that I used to say sometimes to my players. One was this: remember that whoever believes fights, whoever believes overcomes all obstacles, whoever believes wins. So believe in it, go on the field and win with at least three goals to spare.”
