Marco Cecchinato’s turning point

After two and a half years, embellished by three Atp titles (Budapest, Umag and Buenos Aires) and the historic semifinal at Roland Garros 2018, resulting in the best ranking at Atp number 16, the collaboration between Marco Cecchinato and coach Simone Vagnozzi comes to an end. The announcement comes in a social media post by the 26-year-old from Palermo, as of today number 39 in the Atp ranking.
“Those who play tennis know well how many thoughts go through your head during a match. While I was playing my Roland Garros match, I felt the need for a change,” Cecchinato writes, “And after talking to ‘Vagno’ I decided to end our relationship that for two and a half years was a source of such strong stimuli that allowed for successes that are difficult to repeat. 16 best ranking, The semifinal of last Roland Garros, Victory of Budapest, Umag, Buenos Aires and many other matches. Thank you ‘Vagno’, you have taught me so much. My future commitment is to face new paths with new strategies to return to the highest levels of satisfaction.”
