Lamonica’s turn
In light of the resignation of CIA President Stefano Tedeschi, Luigi Lamonica has been appointed Commissioner of the Italian Referee Committee. With this full-time position, Lamonica will be able to structure the entire refereeing world, from a technical and organizational point of view.
Luigi Lamonica, 57, began refereeing in 1980. From 1993 he was promoted to the national championships where he refereed until 2016, surpassing 700 games in Serie A. He refereed at the 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games, the 2010 World Championship final and the 2013 EuroBasket. He has directed ten editions of the Euroleague Final Four.
