VR46: Bezzecchi to scream, Marini in trouble after fall
Special qualifying for the rookie, one step away from the front row in Holland
Marco Bezzecchi came close to the front row in Assen, finishing in fourth position in official qualifying for the MotoGp Netherlands GP. The VR46 team rookie’s feelings are great: “What a great qualifying, I’m really happy! The team and the Ducati guys did a great job, and I felt good immediately in the dry this morning in FP3. I really like this fast track riding MotoGP! Then in qualifying, I went out on track with Pecco Bagnaia, we had a great lap, then a cool down lap and a final solo lap where I was able to pretty much repeat the same time. We are on track for tomorrow, we can have a good race and hit a good result before the summer break.”
More in trouble was Luca Marini, who after a crash in the third free practice was unable to get through the Q1 cut and will start from sixteenth position: “A day that was anything but easy where not everything went right. In Q1 I tried, but I couldn’t then improve on my last attempt and Q2 slipped away by the skin of my teeth. Tomorrow we will start from the middle of the group, it will not be easy to recover, but we will try,” explained Valentino Rossi’s brother.
