Moto3, Ayumu Sasaki makes a gift to Max Biaggi
First career victory for the Japanese
After the pole position also came the victory in the Assen race. Ayumu Sasaki scored his first success in Moto3 in the Dutch Grand Prix on Max Biaggi’s 51st birthday.
The Japanese rider, who races on the Husqvarna of the former Roman rider’s team, preceded the two Spaniards from the Gas Gas team, Izan Guevara and Sergio Garcia, to the finish line. Off the podium was Tatsuki Suzuki, fourth on a Honda Leopard. The first of the Italians was Stefano Nepa, seventh.
Out of the picture was Dennis Foggia, who crashed with five laps to go. Accident then a few corners from the end involving Jaume Masia, John McPhee and the very young David Munoz. In the championship now Foggia is third at -67 from Garcia, who is only three points ahead of Guevara.
