Wimbledon, top-ranked Briton advances
After the elimination of compatriot Peniston, Cameron Norrie, the number nine seed, managed to snatch a pass to the third round at the end of a five-set ‘battle’ against Spain’s Jaume Munar.
In fact, after winning the first set, the Briton found himself in big trouble with the Iberian, who was victorious in the second and third sets. At this point, however, Norrie shifted gears, winning the next two sets decisively, closing on 3-2 (6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 6-0, 6-2).
Now the home idol will face U.S. Steve Johnson, executioner of the aforementioned Peniston.
