FIBA, Italy’s ranking unveiled ahead of EuroBasket
Italy’s ranking revealed
EuroBasket 2022 will kick off on September 1. On the occasion of the continental tournament, FIBA has published the ranking of the national teams participating in the event.
Italy is in eighth place. Ahead of them all is Luka Doncic’s Slovenia, followed by the very strong France and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece, which will face the Azzurri in the group stage. Sixth is Sergio Scariolo’s Spain.
“There is experience and there are many young talents that hint at a bright future for the Azzurri. Danilo Gallinari and Luigi Datome possess leadership qualities and will be able to lead the likes of Nico Mannion, Alessandro Pajola and Matteo Spagnolo. Eyes will be on Simone Fontecchio after his recent opportunity in the NBA and Italy will be confident of putting on a show in Group C in Milan,” writes FIBA, about the national team led by Gianmarco Pozzecco
