The brutal images of what happened in Argentina during Independencia-Deportivo Garmense, a match valid for the Liga Regional bonaerense de Tres Arroyos, are going around the world.
The match’s referee, 30-year-old Dalma Cortaldi, was struck from behind by one of the players on the field and collapsed on the field of play. The woman, who fortunately did not lose consciousness despite the violence of the blow she suffered, was forced to go to the hospital.
The energetic man, who plays for Deportivo Garmense, is now at great risk: according to Buenos Aires press reports, he was taken directly to the police station.
