Robert Lewandowski’s farewell to Bayern Munich was rather stormy: before the Pole signed for Barcelona there was a long tug of war between the two clubs. The player’s will was crystal clear but the Germans hoped he would change his mind. This was not the case.

Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, was harsh: “My father taught me that you have to leave without ever slamming the door, and instead I have the impression that Robert has done that. This is something Bayern cannot accept. I will talk to Laporta as soon as I see him,” he told Bild TV.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski is enjoying his new experience: “I always wanted to play in La Liga; I want to help Barcelona win as many trophies as possible. I talked to Xavi and I knew from the beginning that his idea was to buy me, so it was easy to choose Barcelona.”
