F1 Ferrari, pressure on Mattia Binotto: “At risk in the summer break”
Ralf Schumacher: “Ferrari is self-destructing, Binotto’s job is at risk”
Pressure is mounting against Mattia Binotto after the Ferrari team’s new mistake in Hungary. Former German driver Ralf Schumacher is among the fiercest critics: “By now I see a very unlikely comeback, especially since Ferrari is self-destructing between wrong pit stops and strategies. Sunday in Hungary was very bitter for them, and especially I see Leclerc a bit tried. Setbacks like those at Paul Ricard and the Hungaroring are hard to bear, and for four weeks he will have to wait, without being able to make up for it on the track.”
According to Ralf Schumacher, Mattia Binotto himself would be in the balance: “There will be added media pressure coming from Italy, and for me his job is in jeopardy. When you are in a position to fight for the World Championship with Ferrari and you throw away this chance like this, it becomes difficult. I see him at risk in the summer break. There are too many things that have gone wrong and too many technical problems,” he told Sky Germany.
