Montreal Masters 1000, treacherous path for Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini
Possible Italian superderby in the round of 16
The draw for the main draw of the Montreal Masters 1000, a tournament of great international significance that anticipates the Us Open, was made on Friday evening in Italy.
For Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini, the urn turned out to be not too lucky: it went better for the South Tyrolean, who will take advantage of a bye and start directly in the second round against a qualifier, while the Roman will have to play for access to the second round with a very respectable opponent such as the Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta.
However, Sinner and Berrettini, continuing on their path, would meet in the round of 16 in a real fratricidal superderby between the two best Italian players: possible then, in the quarters, another big match against a player of the caliber of Stefanos Tsitsipas, to make the path to winning the ATP 1000 on Canadian cement even more treacherous.
