Jannik Sinner-Matteo Berrettini, who is the strongest? Blue derby in sight
Berrettini and Sinner could cross paths at Montreal Masters 1000
A “fratricidal” challenge at the Montreal Masters 1000 between Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini. In fact, the draw for the National Bank Open puts the two leaders of the Italian tennis movement on the same side of the draw: the South Tyrolean and the Roman could cross paths in the round of 16 of the Canadian tournament.
Berrettini will debut in the first round against Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta, while Sinner will face a player coming from the qualifiers. The two Azzurri are in the lower part of the draw along with Tsitsipas and Alcaraz.
The tournament favorite is world number one Daniil Medvedev, absent are Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Alexander Zverev.
