F1, sparks in Red Bull: Sergio Perez outspoken about Max Verstappen
Sergio Perez is unhappy with the latest updates, which favor Max Verstappen: “They don’t fit my driving style anymore.”
Sergio Perez is forced to swallow a bitter pill: the latest updates to the single-seater brought by Red Bull have significantly increased the gap between the Mexican and teammate Max Verstappen.
After Perez’s victory in Monaco, the former Racing Point driver had hoped for serious competition with the world champion, but in recent races he has definitely put the hierarchies in order. The Dutch driver is driving great, and the updates to the RB18 have made a difference and favored his driving style. “At the beginning I was really fast, but now the car no longer fits 100 percent to my driving style,” Perez explained to Bild.
The Mexican is thus forced to adapt: “I will have to get used to it as soon as possible. I am motivated by the fact that I am for the first time in a team that can win the constructors’ title. If I were not in such an important car, I would probably no longer be part of the sport.”
