Adrian Mannarino hurts Jannik Sinner in Montreal. But only by one set
Sinner beats Mannarino
An always troublesome Adrian Mannarino to face on concrete sold his skin dearly against Jannik Sinner in the round of 16 of the tournament being held in Montreal, Canada.
The seasoned Frenchman, already in his fourth match in the populous Quebec city (before challenging Jannik, he played and won two qualifying matches and the derby with Rinderknech), started with his foot firmly on the accelerator and soon wrested service from the South Tyrolean, who for the entire first set did not come out of the tunnel and lost it with a heavy 2-6.
Then, however, the greater freshness of our home-grown talent came out, and while not strolling, he won the second set 6-4 and took home the third 6-2 as well, snatching service from his rival early in the partial and never being caught again.
