Camila Giorgi, WTA Cincinnati already uphill: ruthless slate

A path that is already looking complicated on American soil.

Camila Giorgi is preparing to make her debut at the Western #38; Southern Open in Cincinnati in 2022, but the WTA schedule has been decidedly inclement for her. Already, the very first match, on the schedule for August Day, will see her opposing a not easy opponent like Bianca Andreescu. Even in the case of a success against the Canadian, however, the continuation of the tournament will not be easy.

In the lower part of the scoreboard, the WTA Cincinnati tournament in fact presents a very high number of great champions. Indeed, Camila Giorgi’s side features Viktoria Azarenka, Serena Williams, and Emma Raducanu, who could face each other in the second round and are potentially the Marche player’s opponents in the third. Also in the same slice of the scoreboard are Venus Williams, Karolina Pliskova, Anett Kontaveit and Aryna Sabalenka.
