Pablo Carreno Busta has won the Montreal Masters 1000. The 31-year-old Spaniard beat Hurkacz in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the final, taking home the most important title of his career (seventh tournament won but the first Masters 1000).
It was a perfect path for the Spaniard, who also eliminated Italy’s Berrettini and Sinner in the tournament, showing that he is in great form. Thanks to this very important result, Pablo Carreno Busta also conquers the 14th position in the ATP ranking. For Hurkacz, on the other hand, this is the first defeat in the final after no less than five consecutive victories.
