An unforgettable experience for Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton on cloud nine
Through an Instagram post, Lewis Hamilton shared photos from his trip to Kenya. The shots are accompanied by a very moving description, “I spent time with the Pokot people in Kenya. To be welcomed the way they welcomed me was really special and a huge honor that I don’t take lightly.”
“The way I felt here is how I feel with my family back home. We are all family, by the way. I will carry this experience, and all my other memories from Kenya and this trip as a whole, in my heart forever.”
A few days ago Hamilton was a guest at an animal hospital, also in Kenya: “Thank you to the wonderful people at the Retarded Animal Sanctuary not only for hosting us, but more importantly because they dedicate their time to animal rescue, research and conservation.”
“They are the first indigenous, community-owned and operated sanctuary in Africa, and the work they do for these animals should be an inspiration to all of us. They take orphaned animals that probably won’t make it on their own and release them back into the wild when they are strong enough. This was a really centering experience that reinforces the fact that we all share this planet. We are not above the animals; we are with them. More often, we are guests in their homes. Every day here is better than the last. So much love, Kenya.”
