F1: Marko, dig at Ferrari and Charles Leclerc
Formula 1: Helmut Marko, what a dig at Ferrari and Charles Leclerc
During Helmut Marko’s interview with Motorsport, the Red Bull adviser said, “Ferrari slightly stronger than us? I don’t see it that way. We have always been on par with Ferrari, except in Barcelona. It was often the form of the day that decided who was ahead, apart from strategic or technical problems, which are much less frequent with us. It’s only on the single lap, on the dry lap, that we might have a slight gap to them.”
Later Marko poked fun at Ferrari and Charles Leclerc: “Leclerc has signed as many pole positions as we have won this season. The pole position doesn’t say much. When you are in a race and you can overtake, it is no longer such an important criterion. Only at tracks like Monte Carlo or Singapore is the story different. Throughout the season it has been neck and neck. It depends on the form of the day and the updates. They always have a particular effect for one or two races, but even these have not created significant shifts in performance.”
