It ends with a victory over the Czech Republic (96-80) the Italian friendly cycle in preparation for the World Cup qualifying competitions (Aug. 24 and 27) and EuroBasket 2022 (Sept. 2/18).

Not even 24 hours after the exhausting game against Serbia, coach Pozzecco’s boys put the same concentration back on the court by directing the match already in the first half. Another step in the right direction.

The best scorer is Nico Mannion, author of 20 points (+ 5 assists). Also in double figures were Simone Fontecchio (18), Stefano Tonut (14) and Giampaolo Ricci (12).

Thus Captain Gigi Datome, who today touched 1,600 points in the national team (in 179 appearances): “We close the preparation in crescendo. We come out of the Hamburg tournament with confidence and better physical condition. We are ready now to play all our cards in the games that really count.”
