MotoGp Ducati: Quartararo, irony over Casey Stoner-Pecco Bagnaia alliance
Quartararo: “Maybe I should also ask Casey for advice like Bagnaia does…”
Fabio Quartararo against everyone: the French centaur in Austria was the author of a resounding race, the only Yamaha in contention amid a sea of Ducatis. The reigning world champion is the exception in a season so far dominated by the Borgo Panigale stable and Aprilia, and with the Japanese teams lagging far behind.
Managing to finish second at a track favorable to Ducati is practically a victory for Quartararo, who after the race joked about the “alliance” between rival Pecco Bagnaia and former great Casey Stoner: “I should call Casey to get some advice like Pecco does….”
“I don’t like to think I’m the best rider, or I’m not. I race giving my best, in spite of some technical difficulties with the bike. To be honest I expected things to be worse, keeping up with the Ducatis is not easy.” The rival to beat now is Bagnaia: “He is favored at many of the upcoming circuits, Misano will be an interesting proving ground.”
