Series C, agreement reached on free-to-air matches
Rai Sport gets the ‘National Package 1’
The Lega Pro, the institution that organizes and regulates the Serie C championships as well as the Italian Cup and the Super Cup, announced Tuesday that it has awarded Rai Sport the rights for free-to-air broadcasting of the matches included in the so-called ‘National Package 1’.
In detail, State TV will broadcast all Monday night league postponements, playoff matches and the Italian Cup and Super Cup finals.
“The Lega Pro on Rai Sport is a guarantee of high visibility and professionalism for our clubs and their fans,” commented Lega Pro president Francesco Ghirelli, with satisfaction, on the sidelines of the announcement. “Through Rai we will be able to continue to talk about our young soccer, which is always full of new talent, having a constant reference to the present and the future, but also to the memory and history of our country. The soccer of the municipalities, together with Rai, which is the history of Italy, represents a meeting point of our collective identity for sports and beyond. There could not be a more virtuous union.”
