Joan Mir forced to skip Misano
Joan Mir, the bulletin
Bad news for Joan Mir.
“The patient,” said Dr. Juan Garcias from Hospital Juaneda Miramar in Palma de Mallorca, “suffered a talocalcaneal ligament injury with a small bony avulsion. The tibiofibular joint was stable, but with a bony contusion on the head of the talus. In this case, the tibiofibular joint was stable and there was no total instability of the navicular bone. Conclusion: talus-calcaneal-navicular ligamentous injuries with first- and second-degree instability.”
“After undergoing several examinations, the doctors recommended 15 days of rest and another evaluation after this period,” explained the 2020 MotoGP world champion. “Unfortunately, I will miss the Misano race, but I am confident I can return to Aragon. I want to thank Dainese and AGV for protecting me and preventing a more serious injury, given the bad crash on Sunday. It’s been a difficult season so far, but I’m convinced we will come back stronger and give more good times to my team and all of you who support me.”
