The step is expected to increase the performance of the Prancing Horse car on the straights, but it will also result in a 5-place grid penalty ahead of Sunday’s race.

In addition, engine reliability problems, on a track with as many straights as Spa, continue to loom over the Maranello stable. At the press conference, however, Leclerc said he was optimistic: “How do I see the next races? We will take them one at a time at the team level, but we will try to make the most of the opportunities in front of us. I still believe in the title. It will be difficult, of course, but I will believe until the end. I have to do as Sebastian Vettel did in 2013, when he won every race after the summer break: maybe it’s easier said than done but I will do my best.”
