Marc Marquez, it’s happening as with Casey Stoner: Jorge Lorenzo has no doubts
Former MotoGp centaur Jorge Lorenzo: “Marc Marquez masked Honda’s problems, like Stoner with Ducati years ago.”
Jorge Lorenzo at the microphones of Dazn spoke about Honda’s crisis, drawing an important comparison between Marc Marquez and Casey Stoner from the Ducati period: “In those years when the bike was not going well, Marc masked the problems. It was like Casey Stoner with Ducati….”
Lorenzo rode the Honda bike in the very year of Marquez’s last title: “I tested the bike after the Valencia 2018 race and it was not bad. I think I finished seventh, or ninth, in Valencia, and fourth in the next test in Jerez. Then I tried the 2019 one and the bike was not turning, not braking, but, instead, Marc had the best championship of his whole career. I crashed a lot, I had no confidence in front, when you pushed a little too much it would go away without warning. I already said that the bike was very complicated, but since Marc always won….”
Since the Jerez crash “it has been a disaster. I think Marc, even with this bike, if he was physically 100 percent would continue to make a difference and continue to win races and fight for the World Championship.”
