MotoGp, Lin Jarvis cuts short Morbidelli: “Enough nonsense”
Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis quashes rumors of Franco Morbidelli’s MotoGp future
Franco Morbidelli remains at Yamaha through 2023. The evident difficulties of the Italian-Brazilian centaur this season, never in the top ten apart from in a Gp and far from the performance of teammate Fabio Quartararo, will not lead to an early farewell between the two parties: “Morbidelli remains with us, the rest is just nonsense,” are the words of the Yamaha boss reported by Speedweek.
Morbidelli is suffering especially in qualifying: always starting at the back of the grid, making a comeback is virtually impossible. “I’m sure our grid positions prevent us from getting a good result. It has a huge impact on our performance in the race. We have to be right in the group where the driver in front of you doesn’t hold you back, but is as fast as you are,” explained the Italo-Brazilian, who nonetheless noted a search for growth in the last Gp: “I felt very strong. Unfortunately not like Fabio, his speed, especially at the beginning, was incredible. My pace was decent, I managed to catch the group in front of me.”
