Ferrari has made its decision: where will Charles Leclerc start from
Official penalty for Leclerc
Rumors had already been circulating for days about a possible grid penalty for Charles Leclerc ahead of the Spa Grand Prix.
Now the official word has come: Ferrari has decided to fit a new power-unit, the fifth since the start of the season, to the Monegasque’s car, which will therefore start behind everyone.
The decision was made to try to facilitate Leclerc’s comeback, on a circuit that is very long and offers several overtaking opportunities, so that the new hybrid engine can also be used in the Dutch GP and Monza.
The Ferrari driver will therefore be called upon to make a great comeback, a feat that certainly does not frighten him given what he did at the Canadian Grand Prix, where the 1997 class finished in fifth position despite starting at the back of the grid.
