The new center forward has arrived.

Rasmus Hojlund is a new player for Atalanta. After a few hours of waiting, in which the deal already seemed done, the Orobic club announced the arrival of the young Danish forward, who drew great compliments on himself for the incredible scoring averages he recorded in Austria.

“Atalanta B.C. announces the outright purchase from Sturm Graz of the player Rasmus Hojlund,” reads the Nerazzurri club’s official note. “Born on February 4, 2003 in Copenhagen, he is a left-footed striker, physically strong, technically gifted and skilled in finalizing goals. He is considered one of the most interesting and promising talents of his generation in European football. Although he is only 19 years old, he has already shown important qualities.”

Then Atalanta recalled the career of its new striker: “In Copenhagen, the team in which he grew up and which launched him into senior soccer, he made his debut at just 17 years of age in 2020, putting himself in the spotlight the following season also on the European stage thanks to two goals scored in the UEFA Conference League round, to which must be added the three made in the qualifying matches. Midway through the season, at the end of January 2022 comes the call from Sturm Graz. In the Austrian Bundesliga he impresses with a brace on his debut against WSG Tirol and four goals scored in the first three games played. In a little over three months he scores six goals in thirteen matches.”

“He also gets off to a strong start this season with three goals and two assists in the first five matches: his was the brace that enabled Sturm Graz to beat Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 at the end of July. Last August 9 he also scored in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round the goal that sent the match with Dinamo Kiev into extra time. From February to August he ends his experience in Austria with 12 goals and 4 assists in 21 games between league and cups. Welcome Rasmus!” added Atalanta in the statement.
