F1, Lewis Hamilton upset: ‘Like a kick on the teeth’
F1, Lewis Hamilton spoke after Mercedes’ disappointing qualifying session
Spa qualifying to forget for Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton and George Russell did not go beyond seventh and eighth positions, and will start from fourth and fifth places only because of the penalties of Verstappen, Leclerc and Ocon. The seven-time world champion to Sky did not hide his great disappointment: “Everyone is working to improve. We came here very optimistic, thinking we would be close, maybe half a second. Instead being 1.8 seconds behind is a real kick in the teeth.”
Hamilton doesn’t have many illusions about the race, and in truth about the continuation of the season: “This is a car we keep struggling with. I certainly won’t miss it at the end of the year. For me we just need to focus on building and developing the car for next year. We have a lot of work to do.”
