Stefano Tonut, between Eurobasket and Olimpia Milano

Stefano Tonut is ready for the new season with Olimpia Milano, but first comes Eurobasket 2022.

“Now my thoughts are all focused on today’s challenge against Georgia. It would be a mistake to rush ahead, everything in its own time. The victory against Ukraine gives us a comforting ranking. As soon as the siren sounds, we will think about Milan’s debut in the European Championship. Then there will be a way to put the new season with Olimpia in our sights,” the former Reyer Venezia explained to ‘Il Corriere dello Sport’.

The guard then spent a few words for coach Gianmarco Pozzecco and the former point guard’s predecessor, Meo Sacchetti: “Poz asks us to defend hard, to bring pressure on the ball. Only in this way can we then run as is right for a team like ours. We actually continue on a path that Sacchetti had already laid out, playing at speed.”

“After the European Championship there will be Olimpia and I can’t wait to start. It is inspiring to know that I have Messina as my coach and a team that I will be able to steal so much from. I like to watch great champions on the court and try to take something from each of them. It was like that at Reyer and it will be like that with Armani,” concluded Tonut, who will make his Euroleague debut with the meneghini.
