F1, Fernando Alonso sneers at Ferrari
“They always make strange strategies…”
Finishing in fifth position – partly because of the 5″ penalty given to Charles Leclerc during his pit stop – in the Spa-Francorchamps Gp, Fernando Alonso turned in a gangly race in which he did not fail to battle with Lewis Hamilton, who later retired due to an oil leak following a duel with the Spaniard from Alpine.
At the end of the race, the Asturian commented on the race at the Ardennes circuit as follows: “The contact with Hamilton? These are things that normally happen on the first lap. You can’t give too many penalties, it was an unfortunate moment for both of us, maybe more for him who had to retire. Our car is very strong. The degradation was really high, we did not expect it, we thought it could be a one-stop race, maximum two, it was a surprise to have to fight the whole race,” the Iberian began.
On the choices made by the Ferrari race wall, according to some, which were once again brainless this time, the former Cavallino driver did not mince words: “I was also surprised by Ferrari’s strategy, but they always make strange strategies and even today they were no different,” he commented with a touch of irony.
