F1 Ferrari, Charles Leclerc and front office under indictment: ‘Always the same thing’
After Ferrari’s mistakes in Belgium Brundle baffled: “We should not be surprised if we get the same result”
Misunderstandings and strategic errors were again repeated in Belgium at Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc penalized by the decision of the Cavallino’s race wall to let him back in to attempt a fast lap in the Grand Prix finale. A decision defended to the hilt by Maranello.
At the microphones of Sky Sports, former driver Martin Brundle is increasingly baffled: “Ferrari claims that they don’t have to change anything in the decisions of the pit wall, but if you keep doing the same thing you shouldn’t be surprised if you get the same result.”
For the former F1 driver, the team radios also testify to the confusion at Ferrari: “I understand that we only hear a few team radios on TV, but Ferrari seems to want Leclerc to make the final decisions on tires when he does not have the complete data, because he is quite busy driving. Charles can’t make the final decision on hard compound tires without knowing who is already using them, if anyone is using them, and how they behave.”
