Ferrari, Carlos Sainz knows it was an exception at Spa
For Sainz, this was an exception.
Carlos Sainz spoke during the press conference ahead of the Dutch GP about the difficulties encountered by Ferrari in the last race weekend, the one at Spa.
“I think I can be closer here than Red Bull. Spa was a perfect example of how a bad weekend can change perceptions in F1. We are learning a lot after race. The team has produced a very strong car and that was the goal to get back to the top. Of course, there are things we can grow in, but the team is solid and this will allow us to take further steps and concretize more,” explained the Spaniard.
“Red Bull has raised the bar race after race, but we are not that far away. On tracks like Spa they are favored, but we can learn from weekends like this. We have always been close, maybe I am too optimistic but I don’t think we will still see a gap like in Belgium,” Sainz continued, making a prediction about what may happen on the Zandvoort circuit.
