Settebello to quarterfinals, revenge with Montenegro

Italy-Montenegro 13-8
Italy won 13-8 over Montenegro, qualifying for the quarterfinals of the men’s water polo European Championships.
They crushed the Balkans, reigning European bronze medalists who ousted us two years ago in the quarterfinals in Budapest. Dolce’s quaternary and Cannella’s hat trick, which at 5-5 in the third period, opened and closed the decisive break, demolishing the Balkan defense with a fabulous 5-0 run in the third period.
Italy will be back in the pool on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8:30 p.m. against the winner between France and Olympians Serbia, who will play in the round of 16 on Sunday, Sept. 4.
