Lube Volleyball mourns the passing of Giovanni Zacconi at age 59
The Treia club said goodbye to one of the early protagonists of the kitchen team
Lube Volleyball announced in a statement the passing at age 59 of Giovanni Zacconi, in the red and white in the early 1990s when the cucinieri were still playing in the minor leagues.
“A.S. Volley Lube mourns the untimely death of Giovanni Zacconi, a former Macerata athlete born in 1963 who was a great protagonist with the red and white jersey from 1990 to 1992, in the first two seasons of the history of the cuciniera club. With him, the then Lube Carima Treia, which started from the C series, won two consecutive championships, conquering the B1 Series and effectively beginning the climb to the top division, which came in 1995. To the Zacconi family go the deepest condolences from the entire Lube family.”
