Italbasket, Nicolo Melli doesn’t trust Ukraine
“We must not make the mistake of thinking it’s a piece of cake,” said the Olimpia player.
Nicolò Melli warns Italy ahead of Monday night’s game against Ukraine, defeated by the Azzurri national team in qualifying for the 2023 World Cup on Aug. 24.
The Olimpia Milano player spoke to the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ after the first two games of Eurobasket 2022, in which Pozzecco’s men scored a win, in the opener against Estonia, and a loss, against Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece.
“We should not make the mistake of thinking it’s a cakewalk just because we beat them a few days ago. The Riga win can be a double-edged sword, but we don’t want to underestimate a team that has physicality and talent on the perimeter,” explained the former New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks player.
