Valentino Rossi returned to the mistake at Hockenheim: “But when we restarted, I was able to recover.”

Valentino Rossi took stock of the Hockenheim race at the wheel of the WRT team’s Audi: after a mistake at the start, the Doctor and his teammates were able to climb from 20th up to fifth position.

“We got back in the car after the summer break and the feeling was good, we knew that the track was narrow and that’s why the start would be the usual… disaster! When there are almost 50 cars it’s always like that…. – the words to Motorsport- . At the start I was in the group; at Turn 3 I thought I had enough room to stay on track, but suddenly I realized it was over and so I ended up in the grass…. It was my mistake and it’s a shame because I lost something like a dozen positions.”

The Safety Car then made the Doctor’s comeback more impassable: “The Safety Car was on the track for a long time, which is also a pity because I got very bored and couldn’t push. When we restarted I had a good pace and was able to recover. Of this I am happy. Unfortunately, in the battles, I also touched a Lamborghini; this caused me to take a 5″ penalty, but after that Fred and Nico made up for it by taking advantage of the fact that they are always very strong.”
