Eurobasket, Shengelia and Georgia don’t go for it
Virtus Bologna player doesn’t go for it
Virtus Bologna and Georgia player Toko Shengelia has returned to what happened at the end of the game against Turkey, which his national team won 88-83.
“This incident could have been avoided by both sides, but we are human and our reaction to the provocation was natural. When the conflict starts on the court, it should end there, and opposing teammates should not be forced to fight more, especially in front of family, friends and thousands of fans,” the long Georgian wrote on his Facebook profile.
“Also, as we headed to the doctor the shouts and various gestures (of the opponents) were made to irritate us. The Turkish media presented a different image, causing aggression among Turkish fans and are attacking our social networks and families with offensive and threatening texts,” Shengelia later wanted to clarify, giving his version of the brawl that broke out in the tunnel leading to the locker room.
