The Adigemarathon on the Adige River, the international canoe. kayak, rafting marathon, returns 2 years after the last edition. Registration is now open.
“At last, professional, youth and amateur canoes, rafts and sup will return to color the Adige.” The date for the 17th edition: Sunday, Oct. 16. Proven organization by Canoe Club Pescantina chaired by multiple world river canoe champion Vladi Panato, Cc Borghetto by Albino Borghetti, with the fundamental support of the municipalities of Dolcè led by Mayor Massimiliano Adamoli, Pescantina by Davide Quarella, Bussolengo by Roberto Brizzi and 300 volunteers. The agonists will do battle over the long distance of 35 kilometers from the Trentino Borghetto d’Avio to Pescantina (start at 10 a.m.); from the Island of Dolcè to Pescantina starting at 11 a.m. (20 kilometers) on Sunday, Oct. 16, the young promises of the half marathon and the participants in the absolute Italian rafting championship R6 category will take to the water. Also from Dolcè, to follow, amateurs and rafting enthusiasts will color the river for the most impressive celebration of Italian canoeing. In the 2019 edition, last held, the Czech flag flew after 35 kilometers of pure adrenaline. At the sprint in Pescantina, after an epic duel, Czech senior Olympic K2 Mojzisek/Zavrel of Usk Prague crossed the finish line in 2 hours 3 minutes and 3 seconds with just one second ahead of Cus Milano’s senior Olympic K2 of Italian Under 23 champions Giulio Bernocchi and Stefano Angrisani.
“A dutiful thank you,” concludes Vladi Panato president of the Pescantina Canoe Club, “goes as of now to all the volunteers of the associations of Dolcè, Pescantina, Verona, Borghetto d’Avio, the municipalities and sponsors who support this 17th edition as well as the media organs always present and helpful in promoting the Adigemarathon.
