F1, twist at Monza: Max Verstappen in trouble
According to De Telegraaf reports, Verstappen will be sanctioned again at Monza
A new comeback race is on the horizon for Max Verstappen. Surprisingly, the Dutch driver will start with a five-place grid penalty for replacing his ICE, the internal combustion engine, as a precaution. De Telegraaf reported.
Verstappen had changed his engine totally in Belgium, and has now been forced to replace some components after just two races, highlighting a certain reliability problem. Red Bull preferred not to be surprised and opted for the penalty.
At best Verstappen will be able to start from sixth on the grid on Sunday, but the Brianza track and its long straights could favor his comeback.Certainly the weekend in Italy is off to an uphill start, and the setback could favor Charles Leclerc and Ferrari.
Besides the world champion, there are six drivers who will receive a penalty at the Autodromo: Sainz, Hamilton, Perez, Schumacher, Tsunoda, and Bottas.
