AIAC president passes judgment on Juventus controversy

The goal cancelled out for Milik in the dying minutes of Juventus-Salernitana continues to hold the headlines: the goal was disallowed due to Bonucci’s alleged offside, but looking back at the images he is held in play by Candreva.

“The controversy over Juve’s disallowed goal? I think there was a mechanical error. If the referees were missing that image and the line of Candreva’s position that would seem to keep Bonucci in play was not shown, this is a matter not for the referees but for the technicians and it is useless to argue,” said Renzo Ulivieri, president of AIAC.

“We need to improve the technique. That said, Var has reduced the number of errors. I didn’t like it at first and I was for human error and would have stayed that way. But Var has taken away so many errors. And the objectivity of Var is there,” he concluded. The words are reported by Sportmediaset.
