F1 Ferrari: Jean Alesi sends clear message to Mattia Binotto
Former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi: “We also need a more aggressive strategy.”
Former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi from the pages of Corriere della Sera appealed to Mattia Binotto: “I appreciate that as a true leader he protects his men. It is the right attitude, always. No one, for example, knows the name of the designer who chose the wrong path in Mercedes, just as one who makes a mistake under pressure during a race should be protected. But as a fan I am also convinced that Binotto can look, without fuss, for some reinforcements for the future.”
“On the strategy front, where a more aggressive approach would be useful, perhaps; on the front of quickly understanding the set-ups, which Red Bull seems to be doing more readily,” the former French driver continued.
“I’m not talking about revolutions but consolidation on some decisive aspects to counter top-notch opponents. On the other hand, I am sure that the reliability problems of this year, will be solved and that Ferrari will be able to run with a solid as well as a very powerful power unit. There is everything to keep improving. Only a few tweaks are missing, in the name of continuity.”
