Pozzecco revealed that he apologized to Antetokounmpo

The coach of the Italian national basketball team, Gianmarco Pozzecco, interviewed by ‘basketnews’, returned to the incident that saw him and Giannis Antetokounmpo together in the finale of Sunday’s Sept. 11 game against Serbia.

“We met the next day and I apologized, but I was happy because we were winning over Serbia. He laughed,” the former point guard explained.

The Italy coach then had some honeyed words for the Greek star of the Milwaukee Bucks: “If one is fantastic on the court, one is also fantastic off it. Giannis is a perfect example. He is an extraordinary person.”

Pozzecco then described the almost surreal situation he experienced in the second half against the Serbs: “It was strange because it was the EuroBasket Round of 16 and I was in the locker room watching the game on TV with my friend as if I had to drink a beer and relax.”
